NSP stands for “National Scholarship Portal“. It helps needy students in continuing their studies further by providing financial help through various scholarship schemes.

Objectives of National Scholarship Portal 2023

1.Pre Matric scholarship scheme for Minority communities:
It is a scholarship scheme designed to help students from class 1 to class 10th.
Eligibility: Students who have secured not less than 50% marks in their previous year examinations and income of their parents should not be more than Rs. 100,000.

Eligibility: For this scholarship students should have scored not less than 50% in their previous examinations and their parent’s income should not exceed Rs. 2,00,000.

Merit cum Means scholarship for minority community students
Eligibility: For this scholarship students should have scored not less than 50% in their previous examinations and their parent’s income should not exceed Rs. 2,50,000.

What is national scholarship portal eligibility?

How to apply and login for a scholarship scheme on NSP 2.0 portal?
To help students log in and apply for the scholarship on NSP portal we have explained step by step process in easy and simple way. So that You should follow these steps in applying for scholarships.
- First of all visit the official website www.scholarships.gov.in
- If you have not registered yourself on the portal then click on New Registration button.
- Otherwise if you are already registered on the portal then click on Login link.
- After clicking on New Registration, a new page will be opened. Here you will get 5 options
NSP New User? Registration 2022
- After clicking on this accept declaration and undertaking points and click on continue.
- A new page will be opened named Fresh registration for academic year 2020-2021.
- Fill your respective details such state of domicile, your scholarship category, Name of student, scholarship type etc.
- Fill all of your details carefully and fill in the captcha code and click on Register button.
- After clicking Registration button you will get your application number and password on your registered mobile number through SMS.
- Do not the application number and password with anyone.
- Click on continue to login for the application.
Login to apply
- Click on login button after getting registered and login to the portal using your unique application number and password.
- After clicking on login you will get OTP on your registered mobile number for password reset.
- After entering the OTP you will be directed to the password reset screen.
- Enter your new password here and click on submit.
- After this you will be directed to Applicant Dashboard page.
- Now click on Application form link.
Application Form
Here you have to fill the following details:
Registration details: Here fill your State of domicile, religion, name, DOB, Aadhar number etc.
Educational details: Fill your academic details such as Name of institute, present class/course, previous course, mode of study, previous course passing year, 10th Roll Number, 12th Roll Number, School board name, details of your competitive exams qualified etc.
Basic details : Fill in your guardian name, whether you are disabled or not, percent of disability, merital status, parents profession, Bank account number and IFSC code.
- After filling all the mandatory fields click on save and continue button to select the scholarship scheme.
- Scholarship schemes for which you are eligible according to details you filled will be shown on the next page.
- Select the scholarship scheme you want and upload the documents required.
- If you are not clear of any of your filled details, then click on Save as draft otherwise click on FINAL SUBMIT button. After clicking on final submit you cannot edit details any more.
NSP Apply for renewal:
This link is given for those students who got scholarships last year through NSP portal, but want to get this year also. For this students can use this link for renewal of scholarship application using previous application number and password.
Search Institute/ITI/School:
Here you can search your institute on NSP portal for application for scholarship.

How to update Registaration and Bank details ?
To update Registration details and bank account details login to the official website www.scholarships.gov.in . After logging in you will be directed to the Applicant dashboard page.
Here you will get options for update registration details and update bank account details. After clicking on update registration details button, you will get OTP on your registered mobile number.
Similarly, you can update your banck account number details in Update Bank Details section. Here also you will get OTP on your registered mobile number. After entering OTP you can edit your bank detais.
How to check status of the application on NSP 2.0 portal?
- To check status of application visit the official website www.scholarships.gov.in
- Click on login to apply and login using your application number and password.
- Select Check your Status button.
- Here you will get the present status of you scholarship application.
- After checking status click on Logout.
