What is e-ration card?
E-ration card is not much different from the conventional hardcopy ration cards. It is a pdf document issued to the beneficiary from the authorities of government to distribute essential commodities of day to day life to poor people at subsidized prices.

How to apply for digital ration card (online and offline)?
If you want to apply for a new digital ration card, then you should have the details of your old ration card. Otherwise you have to take a coupon from government authorities. The coupon can be get from your district headquarters, SDO, BDO or concerned department of municipality.
Steps for applying online:
- Visit the official website of Department of Food and Supplies, Government of Bengal or click here.
- Click on the link Application Form for Non-Subsidized Ration Card or Conversion to Non-Subsidized Ration Card
- Enter your mobile number.
- OTP will be sent to the entered mobile number.
- Enter the OTP and validate your mobile number.
- In case you are an existing ration card holder, then select one of the options from AAY, PHH, SPHH, RKSY-I OR RKSY-II type ration card to convert into non subsidized ration card..
- If you are not the existing ration card customer, then there is no need to select these options.
- Now enter your residential details like house number, street, mohalla, village, town, district, tehsil, state, PIN code, mobile number, email address etc. and click on DISPLAY to view your entered information.
- Now you will get details of your family members on your screen. Select the members of family which you want to convert into non-subsidizied ration card.
- Now enter the additional details like aadhar number, PAN number etc.
- When you submit your information, you will get a confirmation message on the screen.
- If you don’t have a ration card yet, then click on ‘New Applicant –Don’t have a ration card’.
- Fill in the required family details and submit the application form.
- Verify the details and click on ‘Submit’ button.
Offline Apply:
One can also apply for the West Bengal Digital ration card in offline mode also. For this visit the nearest Seva Kendra or Public Distribution shop. Get the offline application form and fill it with all the necessary details. Attatch the photocopies of required documents with it and submit it as directed by the officials.
Eligibility for Digital Ration Card
If you want to get a digital ration card in West Bengal, then you must fulfill the following eligibility conditions:
- One should be a permanent resident of West Bengal and also have its supporting documents in original.
